The Government of BC has announced funding for future daycare spaces at Anne Roberts Young Elementary School! School District 60 will receive $1 Million dollars to support 61 future spaces. SD60 will partner with Northern Health and the daycare facility included in the school will be operated by the YMCA of Northern British Columbia.
From the BC Government linked news release:
School District 60 ensured several designated spaces at the centre will be reserved for children of employees from Fort St. John Regional Hospital located across the street. The partnership with Northern Health will help in recruiting and retaining health professionals. The YMCA will operate the child care centre once it opens.
“School District 60 has a long, successful history of innovative community partnerships, and the Board of Education is thrilled that the Province has provided capital support for a second daycare facility to be attached to our newest elementary school,” said Ida Campbell, board chair, School District 60. “The additional daycare spaces will help with recruitment and retention of community employees who require much-needed child care services. We are pleased to again work with the YMCA of Northern BC as licence holder.”
